April 14

The harbor city dwindles down from
the great hug it used to be. It’s
so isolated here now. Time moves
back and forth; the dates are important
because we keep confusing yesterday
with now and tomorrow Our attempts
at private solutions have taught us
that we must stick together, and we
do, bugt one man sasid on the TV today
we are like tired swimmers
thrown into the deep end.
He asked us to think about
blue plastic dolphins, canvas lounge cushions,
the steps leading out at the shallow end.
